ScrcpySend shares your screen and optional audio. ScrcpyRecv plays it on your target device. Together, they make ScreenCopy.

You need a sender and a compatible receiver. Install the apps for your devices, not just one side.

ScrcpySend for Windows

Share a display or window using hardware H.264, H.265 or AV1 encoding. Choose custom TCP with PCM audio or SRT/fMP4 with AAC-LC.

Video codec support depends on your PC and receiver. Windows audio can play only at the receiver while sharing.

Android

Android sender & receiver

Use ScrcpySend to share Android screen/audio, or ScrcpyRecv to receive a cast on an Android device, TV or compatible projector.

Android sending uses Shizuku. Receiving does not require the sender's privileged capture backend.

ScrcpyRecv for Windows

A Windows receiver is planned as a companion to the sender. It will share this home page, with its own privacy statement before release.

The Windows sender is not a Windows receiver. Use the existing Android receiver for current Windows casting.

Start with a trusted network

  1. Install sender and receiverChoose the apps for your devices. Keep the receiver visible and ready to accept a cast.
  2. Choose the source and targetConnect both devices to the same reachable private LAN. Select a receiver, or enter the IP it displays.
  3. Press Play, then StopCapture starts after your action and receiver acceptance. Stop ends the owned session; reconnecting never starts a new cast automatically.

Trusted private LAN only. Discovery, control and media are unauthenticated and unencrypted. Other participants on the network may observe or spoof traffic.

Do not expose receiver ports to the internet. SRT improves transport behavior; it does not add encryption or identity verification in these apps.

A few things to know

Does this need cloud streaming or an account?

Ordinary casting goes to the receiver you select on your reachable LAN, not a developer streaming service. The app does not require an account. Your operating system, Microsoft Store and runtime dependencies have their own policies.

Which codec and resolution should I choose?

Choose a format supported by both devices. A display's physical resolution does not guarantee its decoder supports the same video size or FPS. Unsupported settings fail explicitly rather than silently changing your codec or quality.

Can I use SRT?

Yes, with matching SRT-enabled applications. The Windows sender offers SRT/fMP4 explicitly; its audio is AAC-LC. Custom TCP remains available and uses uncompressed stereo PCM audio.

Are these official scrcpy applications?

No. ScreenCopy, ScrcpySend and ScrcpyRecv are independent applications, not official scrcpy applications. See each project's third-party notices and setup requirements.

Where do I report a problem?

Open an issue in the appropriate Windows sender, Android sender or Android receiver repository. Review and redact logs before posting; GitHub issues are public.
